The Master's program "University Master's in Oral Implantology" is designed for the general dentist who has already taken the first step into the field of implantology. The Master's level 2° in Oral Implantology from Unicamillus is aimed at dentists who wish to develop their theoretical knowledge and practical clinical experience in terms of treatment planning, surgical placement, restoration and maintenance of dental implants.
The program aims to give general practitioners confidence in patient selection, diagnosis, treatment planning and execution of simple implant cases. In addition to developing a good understanding of the biological basis of dental implantology, the program will provide supervised hands-on experience to enable dentists to safely perform surgical and restorative procedures, as well as design and maintain patients with dental implants.
The 12-month modular postgraduate study program takes into account your time constraints and professional responsibilities. You must travel to the university center in Camaiore four times during your studies. Each stay lasts 5 days: you will have lectures, hands-on training and live surgery, so you will develop through the input of our international faculty, guest lecturers and fellow faculty. Graduates will be able to independently plan and implement therapeutic concepts for the treatment of patients requiring dental implant prosthesis.
In addition, graduates will also have the skills to select, analyze and fully integrate into their own practice a full range of treatments and knowledge in this area of dental implantology. The course ends with a master's thesis on implantology, prepared by the student during the year and which he will discuss at the end of the course.
The value of the main title
A master's degree is a high-level postgraduate scientific program. The master's degree requires the acquisition of at least 60 credits of university studies (ECTS). The 2° level master's degree is a postgraduate qualification and is a flexible university program where skills and knowledge from different fields interact to meet the need for new professional figures and new specializations.
The Master's degree is ideal for graduates who want to continue their studies after graduation, who want to broaden their knowledge and specialize in a professional field by applying the notions acquired in the study program. The skills developed in the master's program are difficult to acquire in other ways. This is because the study programs are designed and adapted to meet the real needs of public and private institutions. During the program, thanks to the direct presence of external partners such as Istituto Stomatologico Toscano, students have the opportunity to experience the world of work, new contexts and refine their own ambitions and professional paths.
For access to the level 2 master's programs, a title awarded upon graduation from the faculty of dental medicine is required to become a general dentist after a cycle of university studies of at least 5 years and being in possession of the professional qualification in the country of origin. From the point of view of classification, the level II master's degree represents a cycle of studies from the third cycle of the Bologna process / EQF level 8.
The learning outcomes relevant to level 8 are knowledge at the cutting edge of a field of activity or study and at the interface between fields. All candidates who have completed the planned training and pass the final exam will receive a Level II Professional Master in Oral Implantology with the award of 60 credits (ECTS). The Master is also qualified by Unicamillus as SCIENCE due to its technical and scientific characteristics.
